Joe Musielak Small Animal Emergency

Joe Musielak, DVM

Dr. Joe Musielak graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. After working in mixed practice for nine years, he decided to focus his career on emergency medicine. He became a staff veterinarian for Pilchuck's small animal emergency department in 2003, and has a special interest in transfusion medicine and surgery. He has since organized and processed donors for a small animal blood bank at Pilchuck to enhance the emergency services provided. Dr. Joe, as he prefers to be called, is an active member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Away from Pilchuck  he and his husband Aaron enjoy spending time with their  three cats, Ruby, Gabby and Tootsie.  They care currently "between dogs". He also enjoys scuba diving and snorkeling in tropical waters. More locally he may be found hiking, gardening, reading or walking by the ocean with his digital camera close at hand.

   

Kyle Pfeifer, DVM

Dr. Kyle Pfeifer was raised in eastern Kansas and attended Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and his DVM in 2016. Dr. Pfeifer works as an Emergency Veterinarian and has interests in Radiology, Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Exotic Medicine. He currently resides in Bellevue, WA with two cats, a turtle, guinea pig, and poison dart frogs. He enjoys hiking in the mountains, kayaking, fishing, horticulture, and working on cars.

   

Nina Griffin, DVM

Dr. Nina Griffin grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia and graduated with her DVM in 2015 (Go Dawgs!) Afterwards, she completed a Small Animal General Practice and Emergency Internship in Charlotte, North Carolina.  She recently moved with her boyfriend and dog (Braden Boy) to the northern Seattle area. She is excited to join the Pilchuck team and treat each pet as if they were her own! Dr. Griffin’s professional interests include emergency, small mammal companion exotic medicine and husbandry, surgery and internal medicine. In her free time, you can find Dr. Griffin traveling locally or internationally, hiking, at the gym or a local restaurant. 

   

Dr. Lindsey Murphy

Dr. Lindsey Murphy graduated from Ross University in January 2008 after completing a year of clinical rotations at Auburn University. She stayed on at Auburn working in the anesthesia department before starting her internship at New England Animal Medical Center outside of Boston, Massachusetts. She then went on to do an anesthesia residency with concurrent Master's degree at the University of Minnesota. Following her residency, she worked in research doing anesthesia and pain management for multiple projects at UMN as well as working as an emergency veterinarian at Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service. She moved to Seattle in 2015 and worked as an anesthesiologist at Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. She joined Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in September 2016 as an emergency veterinarian. Dr. Murphy has special interests in anesthesia and critical care as well as acute and chronic pain management. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her wife, Amy and stepson Liam.

   

Andrew Rocco, DVM

A Mill Creek native, Dr. Andrew Rocco grew up just 10 minutes from Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham, he attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, graduating in the spring of 2015. His professional interests lie in internal medicine, preventive care and radiology. Dr. Rocco lives with his wife, Kayla; son, Charles; and their three cats, Gregory, James and Oscar. He and his wife are happy to be back in the area, and they enjoy being with their families, attending minor league hockey games, and spending time with their son. It is with great enthusiasm that Dr. Rocco joins the PVH team. He is excited to get to know his clients, so please don't hesitate to stop in!
