PVH Celebrates National Veterinary Technician Week!

Published on July 18, 2017

To celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week this year (October 12-18), we are excited to highlight several PVH techs. Not just this week but EVERY week, we thank all the techs and support staff out there for their hard work, dedication and compassion in caring for our animal friends! #vettechsrock

Erin Stecher, LVT

When did you know you wanted to work in the veterinary field? I have wanted to be in the veterinary field since I can remember. I started volunteering at a small animal clinic during my summers in college and vet tech school was soon to follow.

What’s your favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is seeing the patients go home happy and healthy.

Any advice to people who may be considering the vet tech career path? I would definitely recommend a job shadow or volunteering in the field prior to school. There are some hard situations that will be seen and it is good to know before school if it is something that a person can handle.

What’s your job/position at PVH? Licensed veterinary technician, ER shift lead

When did you know you wanted to work in the veterinary field? For as long as I can remember, it was always a dream of mine to work with animals when I grew up.

What’s your favorite part of the job? Being able to provide care to our critically ill/injured patients.
