Small-Animal Specialty Surgery Services
In August 2011, Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital expanded its service offerings with the addition of a board-certified small-animal surgeon and certified canine rehabilitation practitioner: Mark Davis, DVM, DACVS, CCRP.
Board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), Dr. Davis is proficient in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery, as well as canine rehabilitation. Advanced surgery services now offered at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital include:
- Minimally invasive surgery: laparoscopy and arthroscopy
- Neurosurgery
- Fracture repair
- Lameness consultation
- Cruciate ligament repair (TPLO, extracapsular and tight rope procedure) Thoracic, hepatobiliary, endocrine and urogenital procedures
- Head, neck and upper airway surgery
- Joint surgery and arthrodesis Hernia repair
- Corrective osteotomies
- Oncologic surgery

Dr. Davis accepts referral cases from local-area general care veterinarians. Dr. Davis specialty surgery department works as an extension of the general care veterinarian's practice, emphasizing coordinated care and communication among the referring veterinarian and pet owner.
About Mark Davis, DVM, DACVS, CCRP
Board-Certified Surgeon and Certified
Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner Dr. Mark Davis returns to the Puget Sound area after spending several years in Texas. Now re-establishing his practice in western Washington at Pilchuck, he brings nearly two decades of veterinary knowledge and advanced surgical experience. He is a board-certified small-animal surgeon, proficient in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery, as well as canine rehabilitation.
Dr. Davis received his DVM from Oklahoma State University in 1993, followed by an internship at Louisiana State University and surgical residency at Texas A&M University. He was board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 1999, and also is a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner (University of Tennessee, 2010). Most recently, he was the owner of two specialty veterinary hospitals in Carrollton and Houston, Texas. Before that, we worked in specialty practices in Washington, in Duvall, Issaquah and Lynnwood.
Dr. Davis is a member of the ACVS, American Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Orthopedic Society and Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons.
