Equine Wellness Seasonal Specials: Save 15%

As the weather changes, so do the needs of our equine friends. To help ready your horses for the coming winter, Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer the equine wellness seasonal specials listed below. The off-season is also an ideal time to take care of routine veterinary care, such as dental exams and general physicals.

Call PVH’s equine department today for appointment information: 360.568.3111

When calling to make your horse’s appointment, tell the receptionist you want to take advantage of our seasonal specials.

From November 1, 2011, to February 29, 2012, save 15% on these equine wellness services! For your convenience, many of these services are offered on both an ambulatory and haul-in clinic basis.

-Nutrition evaluation and custom nutrition plans

Colder temperatures and a decrease in exercise can dramatically affect the number of calories a horse needs. Our equine doctors can develop a tailored nutrition plan (food, water and supplements) to keep your horse in great shape during the winter.

-Custom exercise plans

Keeping your horse fit during the winter months is important! Don’t let him or her become a stable-potato. We can create a custom exercise plan specific to your horse’s individual needs.

-General soundness exams

-General physicals (including basic blood work –equine panel)

-Fecal testing and deworming

-Vaccinations (ask for details)

-Oral exams

-Acupuncture and chiropractic care (first exam)

-Gastroscopy to identify gastric ulcers

This is an ideal time to find out if those show horses need treatment for gastric ulcers going into winter. (If there are three or more horses to scope, we will travel to barns within our practice range.)

-Geriatric evaluation (physical and blood work to make sure your older horse is set for the winter)

-Barn biosecurity evaluation and planning (by Dr. Wendy Mollat)

Remember: Properly “winterizing” your horse will keep him or her happy and healthy … while you both await springtime!
