Goat & Sheep Health Topics

The resource library of this site provides a printable list of plants that are poisonous to goats. Because goats tend to browse as they eat, it’s not uncommon for them to sample and ingest plants which are potentially harmful.

Veterinarians often refer to goats and sheep as the orphan species, and horse vets are often asked to treat them. Although they are not a large part of our practice, we love goats and sheep, and we are still developing our health topics for these two species. The definitive reference book on goats is Goat Medicine by Dr. Mary Smith of Cornell University. She has also recently released The Sheep and Goat Book.
